Two New ECSD Officers Graduate from Indiana Law Enforcement Academy

The Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department would like to congratulate Patrol Officer Jeannette Pizana and Patrol Officer Marlin Miller on their recent graduation from the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy. Ptl. Pizana began her career with the Sheriff’s Department as a corrections officer in December of 2013, and Ptl. Miller also began his career with the Sheriff’s Department as a corrections officer in September of 2015.

The 213th ILEA (Indiana Law Enforcement Academy) Basic Class began on October 23, 2017 and officers graduated on February 2. During this time, new law enforcement professionals were prepared for service through rigorous training based upon values and respect. Upon graduation, these officers will continue preparations for their law enforcement careers with the Sheriff’s Department. This includes additional weeks of training within the department and community, under the supervision of a Field Training Officer. These officers will instruct and monitor the new officers on a one-on-one basis as they gain experience and knowledge needed in order to be released to patrol on their own.

Congratulations Ptl. Pizana and Ptl. Miller, we are excited to have both of you on our team!
