Internships
High school and college students are invited to take a closer look at the work of the Elkhart County Sheriff's Department through internships and job shadowing.

Every attempt will be made to cater to an accepted applicant's goals and requirements. Undergraduates likely will experience an overview of the department's internal functions and interactions with the local criminal justice system. A graduate intern can be assigned specific to the course of study.

Intern candidates must be of good character and submit to criminal history and polygraph examinations. Successful applicants will be asked to submit daily reports or summaries, and the department will confer with the college or university's internship advisor.

Job shadowing and mentorship programs are available to high school students, and some of the same standards as internships apply.

For more information on any of the programs listed, contact Lt. Jim Bradberry.
