Our mission
The Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department will provide a peaceful and safe environment for residents and visitors through its programs and policing efforts. Employees will foster cooperative relationships with other law enforcement agencies to accomplish this goal. Everyone requesting service from an Elkhart County Sheriff's Department employee will be treated with respect and impartiality, as we know our success will be measured by our honesty, morality, compassion and sincerity.
We want to hear from you
If you had a good experience with an employee — or a not so good one — we want to know about it.
To help us, please email us the name of our officer or employee with whom you spoke, the time and date, the circumstances involving your request for service, and your impressions of the conversation. We follow-up with our employees after receiving this information, acknowledging good work or correcting deficiencies in training or customer service. Feedback
